About CPS scores

Most players click 5–8 times per second with normal clicking. Jitter clicking reaches 8–12 CPS; butterfly clicking (two fingers alternating) can exceed 15 CPS; drag clicking — where friction vibrates the switch — can register 20+ CPS but wears switches fast and is banned on many Minecraft servers.

Note: some servers and games cap or flag extreme CPS as cheating. This test is for measuring your own technique, not for evading anti-cheat.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good CPS score?

5–8 CPS is typical for normal clicking, 8–12 for jitter clicking, and 15+ for butterfly clicking. Scores vary hugely by technique.

What's the difference between 5s and 10s modes?

5 seconds measures peak burst speed; 10 seconds adds an endurance component — most people's rate drops over the longer window.

Does high CPS make me better at games?

Rarely. Aim, positioning, and game sense matter far more. CPS only matters in games where click rate directly drives damage or actions.

Is drag clicking allowed on servers?

Many Minecraft servers ban or cap drag clicking as it registers inhuman click rates. Check the rules of any server before using it.

Can I use the keyboard instead of the mouse?

Yes — the test area responds to Enter/Space too, but CPS from a keyboard isn't comparable to mouse clicking.

Why does my CPS drop during the test?

Finger fatigue. The 1-second burst stat captures your peak so you can see the gap between peak and sustained rate.
