eDPI Calculator – Effective DPI for Any Game
eDPI = mouse DPI × in-game sensitivity. Compare sensitivity setups within the same game, or see your turn distance (cm/360).

How eDPI works
Example: 800 DPI × 0.5 sensitivity in Valorant = 400 eDPI. Two setups with the same eDPI in the same game feel identical (e.g. 400 DPI × 1.0 = 800 DPI × 0.5). Higher DPI with proportionally lower sensitivity reports movement in finer steps, which can reduce pixel skipping at high sensitivities.
eDPI is not comparable across games
Every game turns a different number of degrees per mouse count (its yaw value). 400 eDPI in Valorant and 400 eDPI in CS2 are different real-world speeds. To compare across games, use cm/360 or the sensitivity converter instead.
Frequently asked questions
What is eDPI?
eDPI (effective DPI) = mouse DPI multiplied by in-game sensitivity. It combines your hardware DPI and software sensitivity into one number that describes how fast your aim moves within a given game.
How do I calculate eDPI?
Multiply your mouse DPI by your in-game sensitivity. For example, 800 DPI × 0.5 sens = 400 eDPI.
Can I compare eDPI between different games?
No. Each game turns a different number of degrees per mouse count, so the same eDPI in two games is a different real-world speed. Use cm/360 or the sensitivity converter for cross-game comparison.
What is a good eDPI for Valorant?
Most competitive players use roughly 200–400 eDPI in Valorant (e.g. 800 DPI × 0.25–0.5). For CS2, common values are 800–1200 eDPI. These are starting points — comfort and aim style matter more.
Is higher eDPI better?
No. Lower sensitivity gives more control for precise aiming, higher sensitivity lets you turn faster. The right eDPI depends on your game, role, and muscle memory.
Should I change DPI or sensitivity to adjust eDPI?
Adjust in-game sensitivity first; it's finer and doesn't require changing your desktop behavior. Some players also prefer higher DPI with lower sensitivity for finer movement steps at high sensitivities.
Does Windows sensitivity affect eDPI?
eDPI strictly covers mouse DPI × game sensitivity. Windows pointer speed is a separate multiplier on the desktop and should stay at 6/11 (neutral) for consistent gaming.
